Good Arabic courses are hard to find. The first question is: do you want to learn a spoken dialect or Modern Standard Arabic?

Each region in the Middle East has its own version of spoken Arabic and these dialects are not always easily understood everywhere.

The Modern Standard Arabic found in the media, in newspapers and on TV, on the other hand, is understood almost by everyone. But, only the educated classes can speak it actively.

The only real long-term solution is to learn at least one dialect and Modern Standard Arabic.
